About Eye checkup
Eye examinations may detect potentially treatable blinding eye diseases, ocular manifestations of systemic disease, or signs of tumours or other anomalies of the brain.
Ideally, the eye examination consists of an external examination, followed by specific tests for visual acuity, pupil function, extraocular muscle motility, visual fields, intraocular pressure and ophthalmoscopy through a dilated pupil.
What we do
At Smart Vision, after getting a detailed history of a patient, external examination, colour vision slit lamp, dilated pupil. If needed further according to the diagnosis visual fields, packymetry, octe of the retinal nerve fibre layer, FFA, specular microscopy, A-scan, B-scan, lasers and blood tests will be conducted.

What can be expected after dilating of the eyes?
The dilating process with mydriatic drop entails applying topical mydriatic drops in the patient’s eyes evry 10 minutes. The procedure takes about half an hour normally during which the patient is required to sit with the eyes closed. Sometimes in older or diabetic patients it can take longer duartion. The patient will have difficulties in viewing mobile phones, computers and night driving for 3-4 hours. Driving in the day time is usually not hampered.
